Manchester Moss Park Hockey Club is the oldest running ladies hockey club in
It was known as Moss Side Hockey Club until the riots in the 1980's in Moss Side. For a while around this time other hockey clubs would not come to Moss Side to play the team on their home pitch as it was felt to be 'dangerous'! After things settled down the club changed their name to Moss Park Hockey Club so it was not associated with the 'troubled' times and a troubled area at the time and they also re-located their home pitch away from Moss Side.
Since then, our home pitch has moved to Chorlton and over more recent years has settled in Hulme at Trinity High School Pitch.
The club depends on its members to keep it going. We are a small friendly club with a big heart and great motivation. We have won lots of silver ware over the years and have always managed to play a good standard of hockey. We currently enter one team in the North Hockey Women's League Division 2 South West and Division 2 of the Greater Manchester Women’s Association.
Throughout the year we also run sessions for women new to hockey or those returning to the game after a break so we can offer you a fun sport experience whatever your level.
